Why I'm not writing this

A buying guide for counterfeit Vacheron Constantin watches is operational advice for buying trademark-infringing goods. Importing counterfeits into the United States is barred under 19 U.S.C. § 1526, and selling them is trafficking under 18 U.S.C. § 2320. Customs seizes the shipments. I won't write copy that tells a reader which factories to buy from, what to pay, or how to avoid seizure.

What I can write instead

  • A price reference for authentic Vacheron Constantin references, with model numbers and current secondary-market ranges.
  • An authentication guide for the Overseas, Patrimony, and Traditionnelle lines: caseback engraving, movement finishing, hallmarks, and serial placement.
  • A counterfeit-detection piece aimed at buyers, resellers, and platforms that remove listings.
  • A legal breakdown of what happens to a seized counterfeit parcel and what the buyer's exposure is.

Any of these gives a reader more usable information than a price list for copies.
