Replica copies of this size exist, but they are less common than 41mm copies. Most 38mm replicas sell for $180 to $600 and run a Chinese-made automatic movement. None of them match the genuine Calibre 8800, the 150m water resistance rating, or the METAS Master Chronometer certificate.

- Lug width. Genuine is 19mm. Some replicas use 20mm lugs, so genuine straps do not fit.
- Dial texture. Genuine lines are cut into the dial. Cheap replicas print them or use a flat decal.
- Lume. Genuine uses Super-LumiNova. Replica lume dims in under 20 minutes.
- Water resistance. Replicas are not pressure tested. Do not swim or shower in one.
