Short answer
"Fake Pasha orange" is a search term for replica Cartier Pasha de Cartier watches sold with an orange dial or an orange strap. Cartier does use orange on some Pasha references and straps. Replicas copy the color and miss the parts that cost money to machine: the screw-down crown cap, the chain that holds the cap to the case, the dial printing, and the case back engraving. A replica is not a Cartier watch. Selling one, or importing one into the United States, breaks federal law.
What the Cartier Pasha is
Cartier launched the Pasha in 1985. Gerald Genta drew the design. The case is round. A square minute track sits inside the dial. Four large Arabic numerals mark 12, 3, 6 and 9. The winding crown sits under a screw-down cap, and a small chain ties the cap to the case. Cartier brought the Pasha de Cartier line back in 2020 in 35 mm and 41 mm sizes. The 41 mm steel version runs Cartier caliber 1847 MC, an automatic movement, and is rated to 100 meters. Steel bracelets use Cartier SmartLink for sizing. Straps use QuickSwitch.
Where orange shows up
Orange is not a core color across the Pasha line. Cartier has used orange as a dial finish and as a strap color on selected Pasha references. Reference numbers, case sizes and release years differ by market. Cartier does not publish a full archive of past references on its site. Confirm any orange Pasha against the reference number on the case back before you treat it as genuine. If the reference does not match a Cartier record, treat the watch as unverified.
Checks that separate a Pasha from a copy
- Crown cap. The cap unscrews, then the crown underneath winds and sets the watch. Copies glue the cap shut or fit a cap that does not thread.
- Chain. The Cartier chain has small, even links and a polished finish. Copy chains look stamped and coarse.
- Dial print. "Cartier" and "Swiss Made" sit sharp and level under a loupe. Copy print bleeds and sits off center.
- Minute track. Spacing on the square track stays even and lines up with the numerals.
- Case back. Genuine engraving runs deep and even: reference number, serial number, model name, metal marks. Laser-etched copy text is shallow and gray.
- Movement. The 1847 MC runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour with about 40 hours of power reserve. A watchmaker can confirm that on a timegrapher in minutes.
- Hardware. SmartLink and QuickSwitch parts carry Cartier markings.
- Papers. Invoice, warranty card and a serial number that matches the case. Missing paperwork is not proof of a fake, but it removes the cheapest check.
Legal status in the US
Trafficking in counterfeit goods is a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. 2320. Penalties include prison terms and fines. U.S. Customs and Border Protection can seize and destroy counterfeit watches at the border, including single pieces bought for personal use. Cartier and its parent company Richemont enforce the Pasha name and the Cartier mark in civil court. A replica carries no Cartier warranty, no Cartier service, and no resale value at a legitimate dealer.
