A fake Cartier Baignoire 1861 is a counterfeit copy of the Cartier Baignoire, an oval-cased watch. The number 1861 does not appear in Cartier's published reference system. What the real Baignoire is

How to check a Baignoire for authenticity

  2. Weight. A solid gold case has mass. A gold-plated brass or zinc case feels light for its size.
  3. Movement. Replica Baignoire watches use unbranded quartz or generic automatic movements. A real one carries Cartier markings and a caliber number.
  4. Dial print. Check the spacing of the letters in CARTIER, the Roman numerals, and the text at 6 o'clock. Copies show thick or uneven print.
