Short answer

Audemars Piguet does not list a Royal Oak Concept with reference 24807. The Concept line uses five-digit numbers in the 259xx to 266xx block, including 25980, 26221, 26560 and 26589. A listing that shows "24807" is a fantasy number or a misread caseback stamp. Treat it as unverified until the number matches an AP record.

What 24807 is

A reference number identifies a case material, a movement and a dial variant. AP assigns those numbers per collection. 24807 does not appear in AP's Concept catalog. It also does not match the case codes Concept pieces carry on the caseback, where the format runs as a five-digit number, a two-letter material code, and a dot suffix.

Why the number spreads

Resellers copy references from forums, auction lots and other store pages. One wrong digit gets repeated by scrapers. Search results then show "Royal Oak Concept 24807" as a model, and buyers assume the model exists.

Concept references that do exist

  • 25980: Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon Chronograph, 2002.
  • 26221: Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher, 2015.
  • 26560: Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon.
  • 26589: Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT, 2018.

Checks on a Concept case

  1. Caseback engraving. Genuine stamps show even depth and spacing. Replica stamps look shallow and laser-cut.
  2. Movement. Genuine Concepts run in-house calibres with tourbillon or chronograph functions. Replica movements show a standard balance wheel and a decorated rotor plate.
  3. Case material. Genuine pieces use titanium, forged carbon or ceramic. A steel case with a printed carbon pattern is a replica.
  4. Dial text. Under 10x magnification, genuine printing has sharp edges. Replica printing shows bleed at the base of the letters.
  5. Serial and papers. AP can match a serial to a reference. Ask a boutique to run the number.

Price

Genuine Concept watches sell at auction for six figures in US dollars. Many results pass $300,000. Replica listings for Concept-style watches sell for a few hundred dollars, not six figures. A listing in the thousands with a Concept dial carries a replica case.

Verify before you buy

Compare the number to AP's site and to auction archives at Christie's, Sotheby's and Phillips. Those records list reference, case material and movement. If a number appears in none of them, it is not an AP reference. Ask the seller for a photo of the caseback stamp, the movement, and any service paperwork. A seller who blocks those requests has answered the question.
